Typically German: German is a land of springs and wells. Due to its geology Germany has a rich variety of mineral water sources. As a result the consumption of natural mineral water is part of our culture, something many cannot imagine doing without – as is the case in France and Italy as well, and in contrast to a country like England, which has only very view mineral water sources For many years now natural mineral water has been the most popular non-alcoholic drink in Germany. The average consumption per head is at 150,5 liters. For the purpose of comparison: In 1980 the average consumption per head was only 40 liters. By 1990 this average had risen to 83 liters of mineral and health water.
