In keeping with the mineral and table water ordinance (MTVO: German for Mineral- und Tafelwasserverordnung) from 1984, natural mineral water is the only foodstuff in Germany that needs to be officially approved prior being sold.

An independent institute for analysis tests the natural purity of the mineral water, conducting approximately 200 individual tests.

The level of mineralization at mineral water sources usually changes only minimally over the years.

Regular analyses test the composition of a mineral water and guarantee the original, natural purity.
