Sodium is a chemical element that - in combination with chloride - is known as an element of sodium chloride: common salt.

The sodium content of a mineral water is however not equal to its salt content. The less chloride contained, the lower the amount of sodium chloride that can form.

The daily requirement of an adult: approx. 500 mg.

Gerolsteiner Naturell contains only 17 mg/l and is thus ideal for a low-sodium diet.
