Sodium is a chemical element that – in combination with chloride – is known as an element of sodium chloride: common salt.
The sodium content of a mineral water is however not equal to its salt content. The less chloride contained, the lower the amount of sodium chloride that can form.
The daily requirement of an adult: approx. 500 mg.
Gerolsteiner Naturell contains only 12 mg/l, and is thus especially low in sodium – suitable to a low-sodium diet.
