Gerolsteiner Team Update

There is a change in the international marketing team. As of early July, Virginia Merle has taken maternity leave. We wish Virginia and her new family much health and happiness at this joyous time!

 

Tilla Schmitz, who has been working in the national Marketing team, has taken over her responsibilities. As a very competent manager, Tilla will be able to handle the complexities of the job with confidence and efficiency. She has a lot of experience and will bring new ideas and a fresh perspective to our marketing initiatives.


 

Gerolsteiner goes "live" in Japan via Social Media

In June we welcomed our Japanese partner Pokka-Sapporo Food & Beverage along with editors of the online magazine MAQUIA. On their visit to Gerolstein, our Japanese guests learned first hand of the health, beauty, and fitness benefits of Gerolsteiner mineral water. Furthermore, a tour of the volcanic Eifel underlined the unique character of the region around our water's source. The impressions and key learnings were covered live via Twitter and Instagram. This educational trip not only helped convey the various assets of our unique mineral water but also deepened the understanding of Gerolsteiner’s messaging. We are confident that this new approach will help to build brand awareness and grow Gerolsteiner’s customer base in Japan.


Ibiza Promotion

This summer Gerolsteiner collaborated with a local German-language newspaper and launched a unique promotion in Ibiza. Consumers enjoyed a free 500ml PET bottle of Gerolsteiner with every Ibiza Kurier purchased. The promotion was supported with advertising in the newspaper and targeted residential areas that are highly frequented by German speaking customers. Such a sampling campaign is a proven way to retain loyal customers and gain new ones!

 

 

 

Singapore: Thirsty athletes at the Test of Will

The “Test of Will” contest is the first-ever Asia-wide fitness challenge with participants from Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines. Held in Singapore last May, all athletes enjoyed free samples of Gerolsteiner.

 

Built around a series of challenges each competitor has to complete a 4-minute circuit testing his or her balance, speed, agility, and strength. After such an exhausting routine, athletes were happy to refresh and refuel with mineral-rich Gerolsteiner.

For the second consecutive year Gerolsteiner was a proud sponsor of the Belgian Beach Volleyball Championships. Twelve tournaments were held throughout Belgium to determine the participants at the final on Knokke-Heist beach on August 7th. Gerolsteiner welcomed customers from Belgium and Spain. Congratulations to the winning teams.


 

IDEA World Fitness Expo

For the third year in a row, we presented our natural sparkling mineral water at the IDEA World Fitness Expo. This year it was held in Los Angeles on the sunny west coast of the U.S., and was the biggest Expo to date. For three days, from July 14th - 16th, over 300 exhibitors and 14,000 fitness professionals visited the convention and learned about the newest trends and products regarding fitness, wellness, and nutrition.

 

Chantal Luchetta from our national office supported our US team at the Gerolsteiner booth. She attended as part of her Marketing and Sales Trainee Program. Expo attendees enjoyed the pure and refreshing taste of Gerolsteiner, learned about the high mineralization of our water, and participated in a blind water taste test, where they compared Gerolsteiner’s neutral taste to competitor brands.


Additionally, Gerolsteiner was present at this year’s BlogFest; a mini blogger conference held in conjunction with the IDEA Expo. Professional health and fitness bloggers enjoyed samples of the world’s No. 1 sparkling mineral water and shared their goals and inspirations on the “Mineralize Your Life” graffiti wall. All in all, there was a great atmosphere and attendees responded very positively to Gerolsteiner’s taste and key messaging. Events like this are a successful way to create a positive experience, connect with existing and potential customers and to strengthen our brand awareness with such an influential audience.
